The young Spanish pianist Albert Mena has been recently appointed staff pianist and vocal coach at the Staatsoper Berlin, starting in the 2023\/2024 season. In the 2022\/2023 season he was a Stipendiat at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where he conducted the world premiere of NEGAR (Keyvan Chemirani), receiving excellent reviews in the press.<\/p>

He started his career as a Korrepetitor and vocal coach at the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK), where he worked in the voice classes of Prof. Aris Arigiris and Prof. Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Montiel and for Prof. Axel Bauni\u2019s Contemporary Lied class between 2017 and 2022. In the 2021\/2022 season he was a guest pianist at the Staatsoper Berlin.<\/p>

Albert is prizewinner of many national and international competitions and has appeared in music festivals such as Quincena Musical de San Sebasti\u00e1n, Bernaola Festival, Mehrlicht!Musik Festival Berlin, Crescendo Musikfestival Berlin, LiedFest Berlin, Leeds Lieder Festival or Zeist Lied Festival. He was a scholarship holder of the Wagner Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg in the years 2020-2022.<\/p>

Born in X\u00e0tiva (Valencia), he started playing clarinet and piano at the age of 7. After his studies in Musikene (Center of High Musical Education of the Basque Country) with Gustavo Diaz Jerez, he moved to Berlin, where he completed his Masters of Piano degree with Prof. Markus Groh, specialising in Chamber Music and Lied. He completed his education as a soloist in masterclasses with Nikolai Lugansky, Pascal Devoyon, Lilya Zilberstein and Ivo Pogorelich.<\/p>

As a specialist in vocal repertoire, his teachers in this field include Maciej Pikulski, Klaus Sallmann, Christopher White, Hendrik Heilmann, Prof. Sarah Tysman, Prof. Axel Bauni and Prof. Eric Schneider. El joven pianista espa\u00f1ol<\/span> Albert Mena empez\u00f3 su carrera como Correpetidor y Vocal Coach en la Universidad de las Artes de Berl\u00edn (UdK), donde trabaj\u00f3 entre 2017 y 2022 en las c\u00e1tedras de canto de los profesores Aris Argiris y Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Montiel, as\u00ed como en la c\u00e1tedra de Lied Contempor\u00e1neo del Profesor Axel Bauni. Durante la temporada 2021-2022 fue tambi\u00e9n Pianista Invitado de la Staatsoper Berlin.

En la temporada 2022-2023 ha sido Pianista y Vocal Coach de la Deutsche Oper Berlin en calidad de Stipendiat. En este teatro fue el director musical del estreno mundial de la \u00f3pera NEGAR (Keyvan Chemirani), con gran \u00e9xito en la cr\u00edtica. Recientemente ha recibido una plaza fija a partir de la temporada 2023-2024 como Pianista y Vocal Coach de la Staatsoper Berlin.

Ha tenido la oportunidad de trabajar con prestigiosos directores de orquesta como Simone Young, Alessandro de Marchi, Nicola Luisotti, Thomas Guggeis, Jader Bignamini, Ivan Repusic, Paolo Arrivabeni, Giampaolo Bisanti, Alexander Soddy, Leonardo Sini o Carlo Montanaro.

Albert Mena ha recibido premios en diversos concursos nacionales e internacionales y ha tocado en festivales como Quincena Musical de San Sebasti\u00e1n, Bernaola Festival, Merhlicht!Musik Festival Berlin, Crescendo Musikfestival Berlin, LiedFest Berlin, Leeds Lieder Festival (Inglaterra) y Zeist Lied Festival (Holanda). Fue becado por la Fundaci\u00f3n Wagner de Berlin-Brandenburg en 2020\/2022 para asistir al Bayreuther Festspiele.

Nacido en X\u00e0tiva (Val\u00e8ncia), empieza a tocar el clarinete y el piano con 7 a\u00f1os en la escuela de m\u00fasica de la Primitiva Setabense y posteriormente en el Conservatorio Lluis Mil\u00e0. Despu\u00e9s de sus estudios en Musikene, el Centro Superior de M\u00fasica del Pa\u00eds Vasco, con el concertista Gustavo D\u00edaz-Jerez prosigue su formaci\u00f3n en la Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste de Berlin bajo la tutela del Prof. Markus Groh, realizando un M\u00e1ster en Piano con especializaci\u00f3n en M\u00fasica de C\u00e1mara y Lied. Completa su formaci\u00f3n solista en diversas masterclasses con Nikolai Lugansky, Pascal Devoyon, Lilya Zilberstein e Ivo Pogorelich.

Der spanische Pianist Albert Mena begann seine Laufbahn als Korrepetitor und Vocal Coach an der Universit\u00e4t der K\u00fcnste Berlin, wo er zwischen 2017 und 2022 in den Gesangsklassen von Aris Arigirs und Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Montiel, sowie in der Klasse f\u00fcr zeitgen\u00f6ssisches Lied von Axel Bauni gearbeitet hat. 2022\/23 war er Stipendiat der Deutschen Oper Berlin und \u00fcbernahm die musikalische Leitung der Urauff\u00fchrung von \u00bbNEGAR\u00ab (Keyvan Chemirani).<\/p>

Seit der Spielzeit 2023\/24 ist Solorepetitor an der Staatsoper Berlin.<\/p>
